Appeal after post-match Bolton Wanderers-Lincoln City fracas
RIVAL fans are set to appear in court after violence flared following Bolton Wanderers last away game.
Video footage has emerged of a street clash between Whites supporters and Lincoln City fans after the final whistle last Tuesday.
The clips apparently shows at least one fan being attacked in the street while he is on the ground by a number of other men. Chants of ‘White Army’ can be heard in the background as Bolton and Lincoln fans confront each other.
Lincolnshire Police has now confirmed that two people have been arrested and charged in relation to the disorder.
But the force is also appealing for anyone else who may have filmed the incident to come forward.
Police have said Pete Evans, of Sunny Garth, Westhoughton, has been charged with being drunk and disorderly.
And James Pemberton, 26, of Hyde Way, Holdingham, Sleaford, has been charged with a public order offence in relation to the violence.
Evans and Pemberton are each due to appear before Lincoln magistrates on September 8.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman added: “Two men have been charged following football-related disorder after (the) Lincoln vs Bolton match.
"The disorder happened at 9.45pm at the junction of Cross Street and Scorer Street near to the stadium as fans walked in the direction of Tentercroft Street. The disorder involved two groups of fans from opposing sides.
“Anyone who was in the area at the time, has information relating to the disorder, or has any mobile phone or dashcam footage, is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 87 of August 16.â€
